Generative Class-conditional Autoencoders

چکیده
Recent work by Bengio et al. (2013) proposes a sampling procedure for denoising autoencoders which involves learning the transition operator of a Markov chain. The transition operator is typically unimodal, which limits its capacity to model complex data. In order to perform efficient sampling from conditional distributions, we extend this work, both theoretically and algorithmically, to gated autoencoders (Memisevic, 2013), The proposed model is able to generate convincing class-conditional samples when trained on both the MNIST and TFD datasets.

Generative Modeling with Conditional Autoencoders: Building an Integrated Cell
We present a conditional generative model to learn variation in cell and nuclear morphology and the location of subcellular structures from microscopy images. Our model generalizes to a wide range of subcellular localization and allows for a probabilistic interpretation of cell and nuclear morphology and structure localization from fluorescence images. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our ap...
متن کاملDenoising Adversarial Autoencoders
Unsupervised learning is of growing interest because it unlocks the potential held in vast amounts of unlabelled data to learn useful representations for inference. Autoencoders, a form of generative model, may be trained by learning to reconstruct unlabelled input data from a latent representation space. More robust representations may be produced by an autoencoder if it learns to recover clea...
متن کاملConditional Random Field Autoencoders for Unsupervised Structured Prediction
We introduce a framework for unsupervised learning of structured predictors with overlapping, global features. Each input’s latent representation is predicted conditional on the observed data using a feature-rich conditional random field (CRF). Then a reconstruction of the input is (re)generated, conditional on the latent structure, using a generative model which factorizes similarly to the CRF...
متن کاملDistribution Matching in Variational Inference
The difficulties in matching the latent posterior to the prior, balancing powerful posteriors with computational efficiency, and the reduced flexibility of data likelihoods are the biggest challenges in the advancement of Variational Autoencoders. We show that these issues arise due to struggles in marginal divergence minimization, and explore an alternative to using conditional distributions t...
متن کاملDeep Variational Inference Without Pixel-Wise Reconstruction
Variational autoencoders (VAEs), that are built upon deep neural networks have emerged as popular generative models in computer vision. Most of the work towards improving variational autoencoders has focused mainly on making the approximations to the posterior flexible and accurate, leading to tremendous progress. However, there have been limited efforts to replace pixel-wise reconstruction, wh...
